‘The Forest’ (1990-1994) is an installation of 101 individual figures from wooden paste on styroform ball.
After graduating from the Rietveld Academy I was wondering whether to stay in the Netherlands or to move on…. I suppose this installation is a result of this wondering process. As someone, nearly obsessed with the process and losing himself in it, one morning opens his eyes and finds himself surrounded by 101 unknown individuals….
